Semifreddi's

Semifreddi’s is Bay Area wholesale bread with a public cafe, not a San Francisco tourist loaf. The bakery’s site dates the work to 1984 and lists a bakery cafe at 372 Colusa Ave., Kensington, CA 94707 ¹. A headquarters line on the same footer gives a North Loop Road street without a city; that city is not guessed here.

The about page is more specific: the bakery began on October 15, 1984, in a small shop in Kensington/Berkeley, started by Tom Franier with Barbara Rose and Mike; much of what they bake is sold to shops and restaurants ². That is bakery-as-infrastructure, closer to Acme Bread Company than to a single retail counter.
