The other day I was wandering the streets of SF with my friend and we were starting to get really hungry. We were in the downtown area and had already enjoyed some cream puffs at
Beard Papa's (delicious as always)
It was around dinner time so I suggested this cute little French place I had been to once before. The only problem was that I had ONLY been there once before and couldn't remember the name of the place or exactly where it was located, just that it was a tiny French place in a tinier alley. I had looked for it one other time since I first went and was unable to find it. We walked all down Sutter, as I thought the tiny alley was off of Sutter, and couldn't find it. By this time we were starving and even fastfood was beginning to sound good. I ended up calling my friend in NY, the one who took me there in the first place, and hoped he remembered the name of the place and where it was.

Success! I got the name and place and we headed over there. Turns out Cafe Claude is nestled in a tiny alley off of Bush, not Sutter. Oops, we all make mistakes right?
In any case, we ordered the
Raviole de Champignon: shiitake and oyster mushrooms, garlic, red wine and port sauce and one of the specials of the day,
Scallops with leeks, asparagus, potatoes and saffron sauce to share.
Both dishes were absolutely delicious, so much so that we dug right in and I forgot to take pictures! I guess I'll just have to come back =)
Cafe Claude is located at 7 Claude Lane off of Bush between Grant and Kearny
It's not too pricey, the food is delicious, and the atomosphere is quite enjoyable. Outside seating is also available which I'm looking forward to as the days start to warm up!
Bon Appetit~
