A More Social Food Blog
This food blog is all very new for me, and I am still trying to figure out exactly how I want it to work. One thing I do realize is that I want it to be more about good food, and less about me. As part of this plan of sharing other people's good recipes and ideas on food, I have put together a "Food I'm Craving" section, which is from my Shared Google Reader of other people's blogs.
My next big step is to host the first ever Gourmet Gastronomer Mac-and-Cheese-Off. I have already gotten 6 people lined up to compete for the award of best Mac-and-Cheese. Some competitors will be trying a stove top method, others in the oven, some traditional, others new and crazy. I will have more details coming up, but the competition will take place on January 6th, when I will open voting to the general public. There will be a secret prize awarded to the winner. I already have quite a few competitors, but if you want to join in, you are welcome to; just send me an email.
My last idea for now is that I am going to start hosting Guest Foodie Bloggers who can share their amazing ideas with everyone. I already have two people signed up, and they will be posting once every other week. Ideally I would like to get 14 people total, so that I have new and fresh content from a new person every day for 2 weeks, and then it will come back to the first person. I would like to have this blog be about all sorts of tasty food, and given that I am very particular about what I eat, I figure it would benefit everyone to get more points of view and ideas for cooking. Let me know if you would like to be a Guest Foodie Blogger, whether it be a one time thing or recurring.
I still need to figure out how I can get into a routine of regularly posting, so that I can share the little I do know about food. I figure it will be easier after the holidays are over. I have some of the foundation setup already, and hope to get a nice running start for the new year.
